PS5 & PlayStation Repair
Australia-Wide
No picture, white light, won't power on, disc drive chewing discs, DualSense drifting — if a PlayStation can break it, we've fixed it. Microscope-level board repair, one fixed quote before a single screw turns, back in the post within days.
What's your PlayStation doing?
The failures that fill our bench, what's actually behind them, and the fixed price for each. GST, parts and labour included — surrounding components checked under the same quote.
Powers on, TV says no signal
The number one PS5 fault in the country. Nineteen fine pins in the HDMI port crack their solder the moment a plugged-in console cops a knock — and the retimer chip behind the port fails with identical symptoms. We diagnose port, retimer and the traces between them, then quote one price. Solid white light with a black screen? Same output path — see the white light of death guide.

Beeps, flashes, won't start
One beep and nothing. A flicker of blue that dies instantly. A console that's completely inert. In most of these the motherboard is fine — the power supply has let go, and that's a straightforward bench job. Fuses and board shorts are the rarer suspects; diagnosis tells us which before you spend anything.

Disc drive eating discs
Discs that won't feed, grind on the way in, or spin without ever being read. PS5 drives fail at the rollers and the laser sled — and the original "phat" PS5 drive has its own quirks we know well. A repair keeps your installed games, saves and account untouched.

Roaring fan, random shutdowns
A PS5 that sounds like a leaf blower or dies mid-boss is running hot. Dust packs the heatsink, and Sony's factory liquid metal can pump out of place over the years — especially on consoles stored vertically. Our service strips it, cleans it and re-applies liquid metal properly.

DualSense drift
Aim creeping across the screen, characters wandering when you're not touching a thing. Stock potentiometer sticks wear out — it's when, not if. Our TMR upgrade fits magnetic tunnel sticks with no contact wear, so drift can't come back. Worth doing to both controllers while the console's in.

PS4 hanging in there
PS4, Pro or Slim with no picture, a dead drive or a fan screaming for mercy — cheap to put right and good for years more. HDMI port $190, disc drive $129, fan or overheating fix $99. If a repair ever isn't worth your money, we'll tell you and offer a trade-in instead.

My PS5 powers on but there's no picture — is it the HDMI port or the retimer?
The physical HDMI port is the usual culprit — 19 tiny pins that bend and crack their solder the moment a plugged-in console gets knocked. But directly behind the port sits a retimer chip that conditions the video signal, and when it dies the symptoms look identical. We test the port, the retimer and the traces between them under one diagnosis and quote one fixed price: $340, parts, labour and GST included. Suspect the cable instead? Check cable or port? first.
How much does PS5 HDMI repair cost in Australia?
$340 fixed, backed by a 3-month workmanship warranty. Add a full internal clean with a fresh liquid metal application while the console is open for $400 all up. Mail-in adds a flat $100 fully insured shipping both ways, charged only if you approve the repair — or prepay when you book and shipping drops to $75 at the half-price mail-in rate. What others charge and why: PS5 HDMI repair cost guide.
What does the PS5 white light of death mean?
A solid white light with a black TV screen means the console is actually running — it just can't get video to your TV. That's the HDMI output path: a damaged port or a failed retimer chip, not a dead PlayStation. It's a board-level repair, $340 fixed, and one of the most common jobs on our bench. Full symptom rundown: PS5 white light of death.
My PS5 beeps but won't turn on — is it dead?
Almost never. A beep with no boot, or a flash of blue that cuts straight out, points at the power supply — a $350 repair or replacement. Fuses and board-level shorts are the rarer causes. Either way you send it in on our prepaid insured label, get a fixed quote with photos within 24 hours of arrival, and nothing happens without your approval.
Is my PS4 still worth fixing?
Usually. A PS4 HDMI port replacement is $190, a disc drive repair $129 and a fan or overheating fix $99 — a fraction of replacing the console, and your library and saves stay exactly where they are. If we ever reckon a repair isn't worth your money, we'll say so and offer a trade-in instead.
Is there PS5 repair near me?
Wherever you are in Australia — yes. We're a specialist mail-in workshop: book online, print the prepaid insured AusPost label we email you, and your PlayStation rides to our bench from any postcode. Fixed quote before any work, 3-5 business days turnaround, 3-month workmanship warranty. Newcastle and Lake Macquarie locals can walk in at Shop 193 Pacific Hwy, Charlestown NSW.
