The honest truth

Every controller drifts. It's not a question of if.

Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo all use the same $1 USD stick modules from Alps. Inside each one is a tiny rotating carbon resistive track. Your thumb moves the stick, the track rotates, the controller reads voltage from the contact point.

Every time you push that stick, the wiper drags on the carbon. After 50-300 hours of play, the track wears down enough that the controller reads a constant voltage even when you're not touching it. That's drift. It's why your character walks on its own. It's why your aim creeps. And it's a known design flaw — Nintendo has even paid class-action settlements over it.

A standard drift repair swaps in another stock module. It'll drift again. Maybe in six months. Maybe in two years. Same outcome, different timeline.

Why TMR

Stock controller modules have a known failure curve. TMR modules don't. The stick's position is read through a magnetic tunnel sensor — no contact, no friction, nothing to degrade. That's why TMR sticks are immune to the drift that kills stock sticks.
