Why this happens
Inside your PS5, the HDMI port is soldered directly onto the main board with around 20 microscopic solder pads underneath it. There's nothing mechanically holding it down except the solder itself.
Then someone trips on the HDMI cable, or yanks it out at an angle, or the kids pull on the console — and the leverage on those tiny solder pads lifts them right off the board. Sometimes the pins inside the port snap or bend. Either way, the digital signal can't make it from the chip to your TV.
The fix isn't replacing a cable. It isn't a factory reset. It's literally pulling the broken port off the motherboard, rebuilding any lifted pads with micro-fine jumper wire, and soldering a new new port back on under a microscope. This isn't something a regular computer shop can do — it needs hot-air rework, the right flux, microscope skill, and a known-good donor port. We've done it 2,400+ times on PS5s alone.
