Straight off at the wall. Don't "just check if it still works" — a wet board with power running through it is how small damage becomes big damage. Pull the controller off charge too.
Don't turn it on, don't charge it
Not tonight, not tomorrow "to test it". Every second of power on a wet board risks shorting something that was salvageable. This is the single biggest thing you control.
Drain & dry what you can reach
Tip it so the liquid runs back out the way it came in, sit it vents-down on a towel, and let air do the work. No hairdryer, no oven, no direct sun — heat pushes moisture deeper and warps plastics.
Get the board cleaned — fast
Drying isn't the fix. The residue the liquid leaves behind keeps corroding the board for weeks. The sooner it's opened, inspected and properly cleaned, the better its odds. Book it in the same day if you can.
Skip the rice. Seriously.
Rice can't pull moisture out of a sealed console — the air barely moves in there, and the liquid that matters is sitting on the board under shields and heatsinks where no grain of rice will ever reach. All rice buys you is a few wasted days, and days are exactly what corrosion wants.
