Get GTA 6 ready

The biggest game launch in a decade is locked in for November 19. If your console has been sitting in a cupboard since summer, the worst time to find out it's dead is launch night. Turn it on this week — and if the screen stays black, we'll sort it.

The three cupboard killers

Turn it on this week

Consoles don't like sitting idle. These are the three faults we see most when everyone dusts theirs off for a big launch — all fixed at board level on our bench:

No signal
Black screen, TV says no input. Nine times out of ten it's the HDMI port. We replace the port at board level — the single most common repair on our bench.
Won't turn on
No lights, no beep, nothing. Usually a power fault, not a dead console. Board-level diagnosis finds it; most come back to life.
Stick drift
Camera creeps on its own. Worn sticks. We fit TMR anti-drift sticks — a permanent upgrade, not a patch. See TMR stick upgrades.

The maths

A new PS5 is $999.95. A repair isn't.

Since the April price rise, a new PS5 costs just under a grand. Most of the "dead" consoles that arrive at our bench are one board-level repair away from launch night. Fixed quote first, photos included, no repair without your approval — and nothing to pay upfront. See pricing & tiers for detail.

FAQ

Questions, answered

My console has been in the cupboard for months. What should I check?

Plug it in and turn it on now — don't wait for launch week. The three faults we see most after long storage: no display / no signal (usually the HDMI port), a console that won't power on (power fault), and controllers with stick drift. All three are repairs we do at board level every day.

Black screen or 'no signal' — is it dead?

Almost never. On PS5 and Xbox Series X the most common cause is a damaged HDMI port, which we replace at board level. The console posts back working, covered by our 3-month workmanship warranty.

How does mail-in repair work?

Book online in 2 minutes, we email a prepaid insured AusPost label, you drop the console at any post office. We diagnose it within 24 hours of arrival and email you photos plus a fixed quote. No repair without your approval, nothing to pay upfront.

Will it be back before GTA 6 launches?

That's the point of sorting it now. Most repairs are turned around within days of quote approval, then Express Post back with tracking. Check our turnaround guide for current times — the closer to November, the busier the bench gets.
