How to know it's this fault
- Xbox boots (you hear the fan) but no picture
- Picture cuts in and out when you touch the cable
- Green or pink lines across the screen
- HDMI port visibly bent or has snapped pins
The common cause
The HDMI port has been pulled or knocked, and the solder pads under it have lifted from the board. This is the single most common Series X fault we see — usually from someone tripping on the cable.
How we repair it
Microscope desolder of the damaged port, rebuild lifted pads with micro jumpers, fit a genuine replacement port, full 4K HDR and HDCP test. Same fix process as PS5 but Xbox boards are kinder to work with.
