Nintendo Switch Won't Charge Fix Australia
Symptoms

How to know it's this fault

  • Charging icon doesn't appear when plugged in
  • Only charges if you wiggle the cable
  • Console drains while plugged in
  • USB-C port feels loose or full of lint
What's actually wrong

The common cause

USB-C port damage. The Switch port is soldered directly to the main board and the pins are tiny — every plug/unplug stresses them. Bent pins, lint build-up, and pad lift are all common. Less commonly, the PI3USB IC near the port fails.

Our fix

How we repair it

Microscope inspection of the port, desolder and replace with a genuine USB-C connector, and re-test charging at the correct voltage. We also check the PI3USB chip — if it's gone we replace that too at no extra cost.
