The common cause
Two things, usually together: (1) Dust packed deep in the heatsink and fan blades — your PS5 is a vacuum cleaner; (2) The factory liquid metal between APU and heatsink has 'pumped out' and developed air gaps. Air gaps = poor heat transfer = fan working overtime to compensate.
How we repair it
Full teardown, ultrasonic clean of heatsink fins + fan, then we reapply fresh high-grade liquid metal with a proper containment dam so it can't migrate again. Full 30-minute stress test before reassembly to verify temps are back to factory spec.
